The Lance McCaskill Award is an award for members of the Association that
was initially financed from the royalties received from the book "Hold
this Land" written by Lance McCaskill.
When the book went out of print, the Association agreed to continue the
award on an ad hoc basis as funds allowed.
The award is intended to encourage members of NZARM to further their
careers in soil conservation and resource management and may be used for
relevant projects or assignments in New Zealand or overseas.
Past recipients have used the award to assist with expenses in attending
overseas conferences.
Awards are normally in the range of $1000 but may be more, or less,
depending on the merit of the proposal and the state of the Association’s
finance at the time.
Applications for the Lance McCaskill Award for 2006 should be forwarded
