McCaskill Award

The Lance McCaskill Award is an award for members of the Association that was initially financed from the royalties received from the book "Hold this Land" written by Lance McCaskill.

When the book went out of print, the Association agreed to continue the award on an ad hoc basis as funds allowed.

The award is intended to encourage members of NZARM to further their careers in soil conservation and resource management and may be used for relevant projects or assignments in New Zealand or overseas.

Past recipients have used the award to assist with expenses in attending overseas conferences.

Awards are normally in the range of $1000 but may be more, or less, depending on the merit of the proposal and the state of the Association’s finance at the time.

Applications for the Lance McCaskill Award for 2006 should be forwarded to:

Tabitha Manderson, Secretary,

New Zealand Association of Resource Management,

Private Box 5280,

Palmerston North

before 30 April each calendar year,

to enable applications to be considered at the following Executive meeting.

Applications can be sent anytime.
